CILT Malta certification ceremony.
CILT Malta (Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport – Malta) recently conducted its certification ceremony of graduates on its International Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transportation Management course concurrently with its annual membership enrollment ceremony.
The event held at the Sagrestia Vaults, Valletta Waterfront was addressed by Capt. A.Dayal as Chairperson of CILT Malta and introduced by J. Portelli. Guests included Dr.J.Azzopardi and Prof.S.Gauci from FEMA- University of Malta.
Four students Luke Genuis, Alex Azzopardi, Luke Muscat and Corinne Muscat successfully completely a 3 year part-time course for an International Advanced level Diploma in Logistics and Transportation Management offered by the Malta branch of CILT International fulfilling a worldwide qualification benchmark for professionals from logistics and transportation sectors.
A further four members were upgraded to Chartered Members of CILT Malta for persons having significant working experience in senior roles within logistics and/or transport environments.
From the 2009 academic year, CILT Malta in conjunction with the Facility of Economics, Management & Accountancy at the University of Malta (FEMA) introduced a part-time evening course for new students seeking academic qualifications. All students with work experience from industry, transportation and logistics backgrounds who concluded their first year of academic studies were enrolled as members within CILT Malta. They were also granted individual sponsorships to encourage them to continue to research and conclude their studies.
The next academic course is scheduled for the incoming academic year at FEMA, University of Malta and students are encouraged to progress to higher membership categories via continual committing towards their professional development. All membership grades awarded confer post nominal status.


2010 CILT International Conference Speakers selected.
The speakers selected to address the 2010 ICM International Conference in Malta can be accessed here. The conference will be held on 5th. May 2010 in Malta.
Presentation of Certificates - 1 December 2008
Three new members were inducted following their successful completion of their Diploma in Transport Studies. The three new members are Massimo Schembri, Elton J Borg and Justin Ebejer shown in the attached photo with Committe members.
In his address the Chairperson of CILT Malta, Captain Anand Dayal, congratulated the three new members and remarked that they should be proud of their achievement. It is not easy to attend lectures at the end of a busy working day and to study in the evenings and weekends. However they should feel proud of becoming members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
During the event, CILT Malta Committee Member, Michael Fleri Soler gave a presentation on the new website. This presentation was followed by an outline of CILT Malta’s strategy programme 2008 – 2010.
Meeting with CILT Egypt - 17 December 2008
A meeting with HE Dr Essam Sharaf, who is the Head of CILT Egypt was held at the Valletta Waterfront. Dr Sharaf is the former Minister of Transport of Egypt.
An consultancy agreement was reached to submit a joint proposal for strategic studies into transport networks especially within the Mediterranean area.
